With the existing house already capitalising on an inspirational outlook, the addition of an outdoor room allowed the clients to take advantage of the amazing views all year round, rain, hail or shine. Designed as an extension of a casual living area, the new outdoor room also incorporates commercial quality cooking facilities and integrated bar and dining zones. Its proximity to the kitchen, living, swimming pool and newly re-instated deck gave the new outdoor room purpose and awarded it a main central hub role.

The outdoor room is relatively modest in scale, yet it has been designed to entertain various capacities which were a key requirement from the client. The profile of the structure lends itself to the existing architecture and has been deliberately designed to complement the current house whilst not dominating it.

With a focus on detail, quality and a successful client-designer-builder working relationship, new opportunities within design and construction were constantly explored and successfully pursued. That flexible, yet pragmatic approach ensured the coherent and productive delivery of the project.
